What is the Endocannabinoid System?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids (cannabinoids produced by the body) and the receptors they bind to, cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2). The ECS is involved in the regulation of a number of physiological and cognitive processes throughout the human body. When CBD enters our pet’s body, it indirectly influences the endocannabinoid system to utilize more of the naturally occurring endogenous cannabinoids. This just means that CBD works to help their body create more endocannabinoids. With this influence, the CB1 and CB2 receptors can then respond — which then creates balance in the body.

Our CBD is extracted from the stalks of non-GMO industrial hemp plants, with the final product containing 0% THC. When our hemp undergoes the extraction process, all other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids are removed. Leaving behind 100% pure CBD which is both safe and beneficial for dogs and cats to consume. This means that extra steps must be taken in order to isolate the CBD and free it of any other compounds.
